Automatic Couplings

Electric couplings are used for signal and power transmission in rail-bound vehicles. The electric couplings are generally supplied with automatic and semi-automatic centre buffer couplings. These allow the coupling and decoupling of two or more tractor units to a train without additional service personnel "on the rail".

Through the development of standard types and with the aid of a modular system, era-contact is able to put together customer-specific solutions quickly, flexibly and cost-efficiently.

Four versions in different sizes are connected via standardized interfaces with the mechanical coupling and the vehicle. Depending on the project, the standard couplings are arranged at the side, underneath or on top. They are actuated pneumatically or electrically.

The couplings correspond to the usual railway standards in terms of mechanical, electrical, safety, environmental and fire protection requirements.

Field of application:

- Railway
- Steel pressing systems
- Rolling mills
- and wherever a secure, fast and automated coupling process is necessary.

Sectors:

- Railway
- Mechanical and plant engineering
- Commercial vehicles
- E-mobility applications (e.g. automated battery change)
